What are GutzBusta Hay Nets made from?Updated 2 months ago

  • Our knotted nets are made from UV stabilized 60ply, pre-stretched polyethylene netting. They are tough, durable, and easily repairable if your net, unfortunately, becomes snagged or gets a hole in it.  This is our original 60ply netting that has been used by 1000’s of Horses over many years. It is only available in Black and comes in a range of Hole Sizes including 3cm, 4cm and 6cm.
  • Our deluxe knotless nets are exactly that, they are deluxe. They are super soft (no knots), made from 5mm thick and high strength PP (polypropylene) with a super-strong 240ply, the strongest on the Australian market. We are super impressed with the performance and softness of these nets since we introduced them in Winter 2019. Our deluxe knotless is fast becoming the most popular Hay Nets available. They are also only available in Black, and come in a range of Hole Sizes including 2cm, 3cm, 4cm and 6cm.

The knotted nets have also been heat strengthened.   This netting will not absorb water, therefore the properties of the netting are not changed during inclement weather or if used to soak hay. It, therefore, doesn't get heavy when soaked, as some hay nets do.  For this reason too, when the nets are dry you simply shake them and the dirt comes off.

The knotless nets do take on some weight of water, so do become heavier.  If you are doing a lot of soaking then you may prefer the knotted nets, however, we still have customers that use the knotless nets, so it comes down to personal preference.
