Round Bale Hay Nets Info & RangeUpdated 2 months ago
GutzBusta® Round Bale Hay Nets are made from tough and durable 60ply polyethylene knotted netting which has been UV stabilised and heat-treated so they are truly strong and durable. In the knotless range, they are made from equally strong and long-lasting 5mm thick and high strength PP (polypropylene) with a super-strong 240ply, the strongest on the Australian market. These round bale nets significantly reduce hay wastage for up to 46% and allows round bales of hay to last longer.
Our round bales are now available in 3x4, 4x4, 5x4, and now, 6x4 sizes that will fully encapsulate the bale. We completed a product overhaul in 2016 and made all of our round bale hay nets a little bit bigger, so they are all true to size. Large drawstrings are also used to allow easy sealing of your round bale within the confines of the net.
Unlike other round bale hay net providers, these nets are generous fitting and therefore will last you longer as they will continue to fit your hay bale over time. A super tight net over your bale might look good for the first few uses, but after a bit of weathering, they become tighter and more difficult to put on. Our slow feed hay nets are still easy to put on years after purchasing.
We understand that this is a significant investment and therefore want you to be happy with your purchase. We have been making the knotted hay nets for over 10 years (since 2011) and produce what we feel is a superior product in size, shape and ease of use.
When considering whether to purchase a round bale hay net, one of our Blog articles can offer some ideas on this topic.
If you are after a hay net that is truly flexible and will fit all round bales and the large squares, then you might want to consider our Large Export Square Bale Hay Nets as these will fit all sizes of round bales, PLUS the Large Export Bales. Obviously, it will be big, but the excess netting can simply be rolled up along one edge of the net and tied off in a couple of sections using twine to take up the slack. We send instructions on how to do this, but if you miss out, please contact me at [email protected] for simple instructions.
The number one question asked about our round bale hay nets is: What happens to the netting as the bale is eaten down? The answer to that is pretty simple...nothing. The hay can only spread as far as the netting allows.
There isn't any huge amount of loose excess netting laying around in the road as the hay spreads within the confines of the net as shown in this photo. The excess netting doesn't cause any issues.
If your horses are shod, have small feet, or you are concerned, you can always use a hay ring, low gates or other suitable structure to keep nets and feet away from each other.
Many of our satisfied customers shared that after using GutzBusta® Round Bale Hay Nets, their rate of consumption takes up to two or three times longer. Plus, you aren't having any wastage issues as your horse or livestock are actually eating the hay instead of pooping, peeing, and laying on it.
A recent testimonial from a very happy customer stated:
“By using a 3cm Round Bale hay net with our goats, alpaca and sheep, we have gone from using one round bale per week, to our round bale now lasting 5 to 6 weeks!' These nets are fantastic!”
