How to Use a Gutzbusta Hay Net Repair Kit
If your hay net has a small hole or tear, or just need to repair your hay net? Here's everything you need to know to get the job done easily.
- Lay the net flat if possible, and identify the damaged area.
- Cut the patch to the size you need (making sure it’s a little larger than the hole).
- Attach the patch securely over the damaged area using strong twine provided.
- Weave /stitch through the edges of the patch and the netting to hold it firm. We use a clove and half hitch knot to better secure the patch to the netting.
And you’re done — your net is back in action! 🌟
Please note: If you're cutting a knotless net, we recommend sealing the cut edge to prevent fraying:
- You can use a hot knife for a clean, sealed finish. Alternatively, a quick run over the edge with a cigarette lighter does the trick too (just be careful not to burn yourself! 🔥).
- If you are cutting a knotted net, then please be sure to cut in the middle of each strand and not near the knotted corner.
👉 We haven’t seen any major issues with fraying even when people have cut them without sealing. But sealing the edge just gives extra peace of mind and keeps everything tidy.
